Tasting Notes: Moor Old Freddy Walker (7.3%) - Old Ale

This black, full-bodied Old Ale is exquisite (A trademark of Moor Beer Co in general), and a 'must try' for anybody who seriously likes beer. It is listed in Roger Protz's book '300 Beers To Try before You Die'.

It is quite complex as beers go, thanks to the combination of 5 malts (Pale Ale, Lager, Crystal, Wheat and Black), blended with Liberty and Bramling Cross hops to give just the right level of bitterness.

This beer has an aroma of treacle and rich fruit, with a perfectly balanced flavour rich chocolate and fruitcake. It is particularly good with berry fruits and dark chocolate. (Shame chocolate dipped strawberries are not on the menu, that would be an ideal match.)
